Kei Suzuki
Kei Suzuki's works express the oppression and liberation of women through a unique story that unfolds within each exhibition. Suzuki mixes whitewash into oil paintings in mural-like depictions, questioning contemporary society from a variety of angles. The exhibition, Knife, shows Suzuki's opposition to an ideology of romantic love based on gender dualism. Taking place on a fictional island, the work depicts conflict and worries of people who feel uncomfortable with what is taken for granted.
