Kei Uruno, Tetsuro Ohashi
This is a two-person exhibition featuring Kei Uruno and Tetsuro Ohashi.

Kei Uruno, born in 1993 and based in Nagoya, is an artist known for his abstract works that capture the connection between abstracted rooms through sound and intricate abstract three-dimensional pieces where elements intricately intertwine. These works were created based on Uruno's experience working in a factory that manufactured machine parts. He derives his creative perspective from the notions of "parts" and "connections." Parts he manufactured were supposed to serve some function, yet in that context, they couldn't be perceived as a finished state and remained abstract material. His work is rooted in contemplating how these parts connect with others and function. By considering a room as a component and exploring its connections, his works evoke the idea that every aspect of our daily life, including our personal spaces, functions as components shaping society.

Tetsuro Ohashi, born in 1994 and active primarily in Sapporo, is an artist who carefully recreates items selected from images browsed on the internet as intricate paper crafts. He then proceeds to either crush them or create reproductions that, though seemingly intricate, carry an underlying sense of falseness. His works highlight the paradox of items derived from images, appearing real yet easily collapsible, constructed from hollow paper, or giving rise to a sense of dissonance in their life-sized reproductions. This body of work can be seen as a satirical reflection on a consumer society where images often take precedence. However, Ohashi incorporates his personal feelings of how viewing products in images makes one feel as if they "know" the item and are driven by purchasing desire. He translates these emotions into his art.

The works of Kei Uruno and Tetsuro Ohashi approached from different perspectives, offer a unique synergy. While they exhibit distinct characteristics, both artists share common ground in their generational identity and the precision of their work, along with their focus on machinery, industry, and consumption.
