Artists

Keiko Yokomichi
Keiko Yokomichi, a picture book and kamishibai (paper theater) artist from Kure City (born in 1972), creates stories with themes such as family, friends, peace, nature, and adventure, depicted with familiar and warm illustrations. The exhibition features approximately 130 original artworks from her debut work to her latest creations, including "Fū-chan's Sky," based on interviews with women affected by the Kure air raid, "Great-Grandmother's Big Cleanup," filled with practical wisdom, and "Teruko from the Manju Shop," which features fun drawing songs. Additionally, there are new works created for this exhibition, such as the picture book "Kaki no Mi Boy," centered on the Saijo persimmon originating from Higashihiroshima City, an interactive "Higashihiroshima Enjoyment Sugoroku" game that can be played at the venue, and a display of collaborative projects with children from Higashihiroshima City.
