Kengo Kito
Kengo Kito's installation work, "Lines," which was exhibited at the Kanagawa Arts Theatre Atrium in 2022, has been reconfigured for this exhibition. Using ready-made ropes and colorful 4-meter sticks, Kito creates vertical lines with a direct sense of color, similar to his paintings. The rhythm of the colors and the contrast between the straight lines resonate with each other.
In addition, Kito presents a new two-dimensional work, “Cartwheel Galaxy." The "wheel" is left as a trace on the canvas, where vivid strokes of paint are vividly moving. Mirror fragments are scattered here and there, casting a surprisingly sharp light depending on the angle of the lighting. The synergy between the layers of primary colors and the reflections of the glass creates a unique pictorial space.
