Kishi Omori
Gallery Kogure is pleased to announce the solo exhibition "Denature" by Kishi Omori (born 1990). Through industrial-looking objects created from metal steel materials (processed steel sheets, bars, and more), as well as prototypes assembled from model kit parts or bronze sculptures cast from model kits, Omori has brought to life the very essence of scale within oneself and the surrounding world. In this exhibition, we focus on the bronze works that Omori has been working on since 2021.
Combining model kit parts to create a narrative and fusing them with metal, the dignified brown presence of these works overflows with a lifelike vitality, as if contained life had burst forth. It’s astonishing to believe that Omori began working on bronze pieces in 2021 and has achieved such a high level of craftsmanship in just two years. This solo exhibition, primarily centered on bronze, is his first and features entirely unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. We invite you to visit Gallery Kogure and experience them for yourself.
