Kiyomi Irie
Fuji Gallery Shinjuku, located on the basement floor (B1F) of the Hilton Tokyo Hotel in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo, is pleased to announce that Kiyomi IRIE’s solo exhibition “Sheer Bliss” will be held from Friday 5th until Sunday 28th of April 2024.

Kiyomi Irie is an artist who works with ceramic works as well as paintings with a heavy emphasis on texture like ceramics. Since completing her postgraduate studies at Tama Art University, she has ambitiously produced and exhibited a large number of works inspired by everyday situations. The works, with their 'aptly titled' titles, are full of dynamism and have a primitive strength and yet sophisticated atmosphere. These works have attracted many art collectors as well as architects.

The exhibition title "Sheer Bliss" means "supreme happiness". The artist has often used subdued colours in her work, but in this exhibition, she dares to use warmer colours. It is her heartfelt message from an artist who sincerely believes in the role her art can play for society, culture and people, in the current gloomy world.
