Kiyomi Kuriki

Kiyomi Kuriki has actively presented her works across various locations in Europe, including Germany, France, and Brazil, through residencies for over a decade. While also showcasing her works locally in Aichi, this exhibition marks her first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 32 years.

Using oil painting as her primary medium, Kuriki creates works with the theme of "light in the darkness." Her pieces showcase a combination of beauty and elegance, with images of fluctuation and mysterious impressions intricately woven together, creating distinctive features. In her latest works, there is a noticeable transition from a monochromatic tone to a colorful palette, and this evolution is a point of interest. Particularly, the focus of this exhibition lies on the works presented in her solo exhibition in Germany in 2022, her solo exhibition in Gifu last year, and the new pieces.
