We are pleased to announce Croquis, a solo exhibition by Kohei Nawa, held in celebration of the collaboration between ARTRO and the artist. The exhibition focuses on Nawa’s croquis drawings, including works selected for ARTRO’s coffee package design.
Nawa first engaged with croquis (quick sketches) during his high school years, sharpening his skills in preparation for entrance examinations—a discipline he has returned to periodically ever since. While in graduate school, he also shared this practice as an instructor for hairstylists. In the contemporary world, when nearly every facet of life is increasingly filtered through layers of information, the act of croquis becomes a means of reclaiming direct, physical engagement—an immediate dialogue between hand, eye, and body.
The coffee packaging features images from works created primarily in the 2000s. Both the exhibition and the coffee series offer a view into the artist’s sensibility and creative vision.
