Kotaro Yamada completed his MFA in Sculpture at Musashino Art University in 2016. He has been working on the theme of "life and death" mainly through group exhibitions.
Since his first solo exhibition, he has further expanded the scope of his activities, including a collaboration with the jewelry brand Justin Davis for the original character "Me" in 2022.
In this exhibition, titled "A New Beginning," Yamada presents the "If It is There" series, reliefs that transform themselves according to the angle from which they are viewed by installing lights using the three primary colors of light. The work questions the value of essence that changes depending on the viewer.
