Amidst the challenges of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, manga artist Machiko Kyo portrayed the daily lives of people and urban landscapes, incorporating the hashtag "#stayhome" when posting on social media. Participating in the Ise Creators' Vacation during this period, the scenes Kyo documented from Ise were compiled into the book "Distance."
In 2023, with pandemic restrictions alleviating and people resuming travel routines, Kyo revisited Ise. This exhibition showcases the works inspired by the artist's two stays, as well as the changes that have occurred.
