Artists

Madoka Chiba
Madoka Chiba graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School with a major in sculpture in 2009, then studied abroad at the University of Berlin, and currently works out of Hokkaido. Chiba held a solo exhibition in Germany in 2017 and has recently participated in exhibitions across Japan. Her video installation at last year's "Art Award in the Cube 'The Future of 'Reality'" at the Gifu Prefectural Museum of Art remains memorable.

In this solo exhibition at Gallery KTO Shinjuku, work inspired by the theme of "three 'suns' overlapping to create a single piece"—a star floating in the universe, nuclear energy exceeding a million degrees Celsius upon explosion, and a giant meteor—will be showcased. Chiba's unique installations will be presented through stone-themed objects, video works, and flat works where images emerge on fabric under sunlight.
