Makoto Ohrui has been a multifaceted creative force, working as a designer, art director, editor, publisher, gallerist, painter, and ceramicist, long before the term "creative director" became widely recognized in Japan. He has continuously influenced many artists and is also known as a pioneer who introduced bondage and fetish culture from abroad to Japan.
This exhibition will showcase Ohrui's life work, including ink drawings, collage pieces, ceramic works, as well as posters and books he has designed. This exhibition is an opportunity to enjoy the sophisticated aesthetic that has defined Makoto Ohrui's 50-year career.
