Esther Okada Art Gallery is delighted to present Nothing Seems Certain – a series of artworks by Marion Flament that marks the first Japan solo exhibition.
Humans have been attracted to glass objects since ancient times, for their practical uses but also for their magical qualities, the way they catch the sunlight, moonlight and candlelight. In this body of work, Flament navigates further into the in-between of brutality and tenderness.
The exhibition takes us on a journey, invites us to engage our imaginations and sense of watch, and to immerse ourselves in colour, pattern and illusion. The works in the exhibition encourage us to pause and contemplate the wonder that can be found in nature, and in our interactions with the intangible and the sacred.
From her studio in Paris, France, new subjects with new stories emerge, wading through familiar landscapes.
