The word “Photography” originates from the Greek word for "drawing by light.” This exhibition will present a new body of work by Masayo Matsuda, who has been working on the relationship between photography and the aspects of light, shadow, and reflection, as well as the traces within the photographic expression.

"The Dialogue about the Act of Seeing: Fragments of Fleeting Time and Light” is an artist residency exhibition that explores the relationship between photography and the act of seeing through photographic visual images. Photography is closely tied to the act of seeing both historically and especially by the functionality of a camera. The artist examines physical and visual perception but also considers seeing in a broader context, which includes understanding contemporary society. This exhibition features a series of works that originally inspired the artist to re-evaluate the act of seeing within the photographic framework. It also presents a new body of visual works that expresses the fragments of fleeting time and light that drift and flicker by printing images on soft fabric surfaces, allowing them to be influenced by the surrounding environment to move gently within the space to reflect upon the idea of seeing.

The exhibition will be divided into two phases: the first phase, from February 1 to 8, 2025, will be the artist-in-residency exhibition. From February 9 to 16, the second period, the artist will exhibit what has been developed based on the dialogues with visitors during the first period.
