The exhibition "Sokusai," the first solo show by Mashimi, reveals "they" by overlaying multiple line drawings. The images serve as a medium that, in an instant, releases the viewer's senses into eternity.
In addition to drawing works, the exhibition features the "Lightbox" series where completed drawings are viewed with the light bundled with several sketches, and the "Trimming" series, where parts of drawings captured with a smartphone are printed on canvas.
The lines, light, and gazes encountered on the tracing table crystallize the world of Mashimi's artwork. It invites the viewers to the state of "sokusai" (breathing comfortably) in harmony with the normal body temperature, guiding them to a realm of ease and tranquility.
