After the end of World War II, Matazo Kayama questioned the meaning of "Japanese painting." He is known for his artistic career and as a teacher who trained younger artists at Tama Art University and Tokyo University of the Arts. This exhibition will feature Kayama's work along with his six successors - Yoshiyuki Nakano, Kiyokazu Yonetani, Chikako Matsuya, Takehiko Sugawara, Yuji Ichikawa, and Maiko Yoshizawa.
