The Matsumoto Architecture + Art Festival Executive Committee is holding the third edition of the "Matsumoto Architecture + Art Festival Annex 2024" from February 23rd (Friday) to March 24th (Sunday), a period of 31 days.

Under the concept of "Art Inhabiting Famous Architecture in Matsumoto's Winter," the Matsumoto Architecture + Art Festival has been held twice before. The number of visitors exceeded 65,000 (over 23 days) in 2022 and 81,500 (over 23 days) in 2023, allowing people from both inside and outside the prefecture to enjoy the collaboration between nostalgic "famous architecture" and art, which is abundant in the central part of Matsumoto City.

The festival has also increased awareness of the utilization and preservation of old buildings. In addition to enhancing the promotion of art & culture and tourism in Matsumoto, efforts are being made to utilize the disappearing "famous architecture" in a living form and to revitalize the local community.

The Matsumoto Architecture and Art Festival Annex 2024, now in its third edition, will be held mainly at the former Matsumoto City Museum, adjacent to Matsumoto Castle, under the theme of "Vanishing Famous Architecture: Art Resides and Memories Persist." This will be the final event held before the demolition of the museum.
