Mayumi Tsuzuki
After graduating from the Department of Interior Design at Musashino Art University’s College of Art and Design, Mayumi Tsuzuki has been active across various fields, including book cover design, illustration, and three-dimensional art. While she is well-known for her risograph works, this exhibition will primarily showcase her recent and new oil paintings, a medium she has been focusing on lately.

Tsuzuki began working with oil paints due to the limitations of risograph printing and her desire to paint on large canvases. After working with acrylic paints, she shifted to oils to pursue a deeper texture, discovering a resemblance between the layered colors and textures in oil painting and those in risograph printing as she explores new forms of expression.

The exhibition will center on the theme of "memory," a recurring motif in Tsuzuki's work, exploring the uniqueness and commonality of memories. Through her pieces, which at first glance seem like scenes of a happy everyday life but carry a fleeting and unsettling atmosphere that evokes a sense of the extraordinary, viewers will reflect on their memories and sensations, discovering moments that resonate deeply within.
