We are pleased to announce our fourth solo exhibition with photographer Mie Morimoto. Though similar in form to the work presented in Morimoto’s 2018 exhibition Territory, the photographs comprising A light wind, mark a significant shift in her practice. Shot on film with a Leica camera, in contrast to her standard practice of using a medium format camera, the new photographs embrace a degree of casualness previously avoided by Morimoto; at once more focused – in terms of subject – and more apt to blur, the images are installed in pairs, suggesting an embrace – however tentative, of overt narrative as an element of her practice.
