Miki Kuruhara
Miki Kuruhara, a painter and doll artist, is based in Ikegami, Ota, near Jiyugaoka, where the exhibition venue is located. Jiyugaoka holds special significance for Kuruhara, being a fashionable area in Tokyo's Jounan district where Kuruhara once worked part-time during college. Kuruhara's paintings feature dolls that are entirely the artist's own creations. The exhibition evokes cherished memories intertwined with the ambiance of Jiyugaoka, the "city of cake boxes" they inhabit.
