Minami Ichida Exhibition

Kirishima Open-air Museum, Kagoshima
Finished
Minami Ichida is a Kagoshima-based artist working on the theme of “sound." Ichida, who is unable to visualize her mental images due to aphantasia, is a rare artist who attempts to harmonize sound and color by seeking images from the sounds of the sea and the sky while keeping the "blue" that spreads deep in her mind as the axis of her expression.

In this exhibition, Ichida will present new works in addition to his past creative activities, such as two-dimensional works that evoke the image of the deep blue sea painted with colored pencils and acrylic paints, and rhythmical installations using PP band spheres, creating a calm time and space free from the hustle and bustle of reality.

The work, which speaks quietly to the viewer, radiates a sense of presence that surpasses the concepts of time and space and penetrate deep into the mind.
