Minami Yamanaka
This is an exhibition of new work by Yamanaka, an emerging artist who creates photographic works based on the theme of "life in everyday life," and focuses on "stones."

The exhibition consists of photographs of stones that are usually seen as part of the landscape and landscapes such as mountains and rivers where these stones were born. Stones are formed when magma erupted from volcanoes cools and hardens, and is carried along the foot of mountains and through rivers, where it is gradually reduced in size. It is said to take tens of thousands to tens of millions of years to reach the size of a single stone through this process. The accumulation of time is unimaginably vast when considered on the human time axis, but by focusing on each stone, we can imagine the connection between the far-distant past and the present.

Moreover, every stone has a different pattern and shape, and no two stones are exactly alike. The accumulation of time is clearly reflected in each stone.
Stones born from magma deep in the earth are "fragments of the earth."
