Our human bodies are undeniably raw (called "nama" in Japanese), living entities. However, in this modern age of advanced life sciences, such living existence is often reduced to dry information and data—just as raw blood drawn for a test is reduced to numbers on a sheet of paper. Now, how can we reclaim the raw, visceral experience of being alive?
Genes, proteins, cells... I transform the fundamental building blocks—the units, such as genes, proteins, and cells—that compose our bodies into different media, bringing them into the tangible world before us. Through experiencing the artwork, let’s attempt to imagine and reconnect with the inside of ourselves as living beings, together.
