Minori Oga, Daisuke Kiyomiya
Diginner Gallery has intermittently held exhibitions titled "Archives," focusing on past works and unreleased pieces by our represented artists. The two-person "Archives" exhibition features visual artist Minori Oga and sculptor Daisuke Kiyomiya.

The initial encounter between the two occurred at Kiyomiya’s solo exhibition two years ago, where Oga’s past drawings were displayed as part of the space’s arrangement. In this exhibit, Oga’s drawings miraculously synchronized with Kiyomiya’s works, creating a unique harmony where some drawings appeared as if they were blueprints for Kiyomiya’s sculptures. This impressive exhibition remains vividly memorable.

Minori Oga, after working as a lacquer artist, began presenting flat works in 2020 due to changes in her environment and state of mind. Possibly as a reaction to the meticulous and patient nature required in handling lacquer, her works exude a spontaneous, live feeling. She uses a variety of materials, including acrylics, pastels, and ink, to capture spontaneously arising images while also cleverly utilizing the roles and characteristics of each material. Recently, she has also created works incorporating stone powder leftover from Kiyomiya’s production process.

Daisuke Kiyomiya, a sculptor based in New York, works for B & H Art in Architecture, specializing in the restoration of historical buildings. He undertakes restoration work on churches, libraries, and museums, and processes decorative parts of stone structures. His abstract sculptures, derived from stone materials separated from their architectural context, will be showcased. Additionally, there will be several ceramic and wood carving pieces, including new works created during his stay in Japan.
