Miyuki Tsugami
The word "View" in the title of Miyuki Tsugami's works indicates that she is not only concerned with views and landscapes, but also with opinions and perspectives in a broader sense. Through daily sketches, Tsugami's landscape paintings express the passage of time from the past to the present, based on the location, the history of the land, and the history of the place in front of her, which is derived from what she sees and draws.

In this exhibition, Tsugami will present a series of large-sized works in the basement gallery, based on her research of the rivers in the area near NADiff a/p/a/r/t. The works are designed to evoke a sense of the water veins of the past. In a quiet underground space where one can feel the presence of former water veins, a group of works that juxtapose the history of the land with the current landscape surrounding the river surrounds the viewer as if they are closing in. In the bookstore space on the first floor, the artist's sketchbooks will be on display, along with new canvases, delicate works on paper, and all the prints she has made at her printmaking studio, Edition Works. This is a rare opportunity to view Tsugami's work in its entirety, focusing on the early blooming cherry trees outside of her studio, which have become an indispensable motif for the artist.

This exhibition will be held concurrently with Miyuki Tsugami's solo exhibition "Sarasara, Yuku" at Cadan Yurakucho. The exhibition will feature about 15 new works, including a large-scale work created based on careful research of the land that was once under the sea.
