To imitate, copy, or otherwise copy a form based on a model, or to create something that resembles a certain form, is called "katadoru" (to copy). This exhibition introduces a selection of paintings from the Mizunoki Art School, which is part of the museum's collection, including works created by looking at landscapes and objects, works copied from art books and photo albums, and works inspired by people painting in the classroom next door.

It has become clear that the works, whether they seem at first glance to be abstract expressions or are composed of bold color divisions and margins, were created from concrete events in the daily lives of the painters. These works, which were modeled by various triggers and drawings, are extremely valuable materials from the viewpoint of art education for people with disabilities as well as for the study of Art Brut.
