It has been more than half a year since artist Moe Nakamura's exhibition “Before the Dawn" was held in December 2022 to great acclaim. To commemorate the release of the book of the same title on August 7 (Mon.), the exhibition will be held again at Ginza Tsutaya Event Space Ginza Atrium.
The theme of this year's exhibition is "Like a Garden.” The exhibition space will be transformed into an imaginary garden, where Nakamura will exhibit his new wood sculptures and two-dimensional works drawn on boards.
While the composition of the previous exhibition was designed to evoke the image of "before dawn," this exhibition will be finished in a way that evokes the lush green nature that is appropriate for a group of works that evoke the abundant life force of summer.
The exhibition will feature approximately 10 works, including five new three-dimensional wood sculptures created since his solo exhibition last December, major works from his book, wood carvings, board drawings, and drawings.
In addition, an edition of woodblock prints and woodcarvings has been produced for this exhibition and will be available as a special limited edition set with the new book.
