Contemporary artist Momoka Ota creates abstract works with bold strokes and colors. While a university student, Ota attracted much attention after being selected for the "KUAD Annual 2020 Fieldwork: Contemporary Art as a Textbook for the World" at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Tokyo, Japan).
During her studies in Kyoto, Ota became interested in the mountains she had seen daily and used them as a theme for her work. In recent years, she has also turned her attention to everyday events and is now working from the perspective that her "production" and "daily life" are in parallel.
