With a history spanning over a millennium, Zenko-ji Temple has been a place of prayer that guided many people to the distant mountainous region of northern Shinano. In the land that has conveyed the Zenko-ji faith, a sanctuary for the common people since the medieval era, the "Monzen Sennen-sai" (Monzen Thousand-Year Festival) will be held, providing a space to encounter diverse and rich art. The Zenko-ji Great Kannon-in Temple will exhibit various works, including Kyo Koizumi's Japanese paintings and Rieko Oyama's paintings. In the vicinity of the temple, there will be installations by Hiroyuki Oki and scientist Pegio Kunihiro Gunji, as well as an unrealized urban planning map of Nagano City by Tadanao Miyamoto. Additionally, various works, film screenings, and theatrical programs will be part of the event.
