Artists

Motohiko Odani
Motohiko Odani, an internationally renowned artist, works in a variety of media, including sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Among the works included in this solo exhibition by Odani are a new full-length video work that the artist has been working on for over three years, as well as a sculpture and a short video presented last year. Invasion, the title of the exhibition, is also the title of the new feature-length video, and the icon is a whirlpool used in hypnosis. As a whirlpool can represent hypnosis, awakening, or change, or is it a metaphor for resetting, here the whirlpool is used as a metaphor for different meanings and as the symbol of the magical.
