“My Sweaty Diary", a project led by a Japanese artist “nao” will hold its first solo exhibition "My Sweaty Diary: The Exhibit" at Sunabako in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo from March 25 to March 30.
"My Sweaty Diary: The Exhibit" is an exhibition projecting the story of nao, the project initiator of “My Sweaty Diary”, with three music videos created based on her past experiences expressed throughout the entire exhibition space.
nao has been facing her illness -"primary focal hyperhidrosis", which is also known as “silent handicap” from her early childhood. While she was facing the social challenges that were caused from her illness, the world of entertainment has empowered her countless times. This project is going to be her first artwork as an artist which she initiated the music production, performance and video direction. This is her new challenge towards the world of entertainment.
“I hope this work will be the light for everyone living in chaotic time today." nao says. This work is not about negativity. Rather, it is based on her hypothesis - “Isn’t it actually possible to change the perceptions and the perspectives of the individual qualities we have which we will keep living with?” She expresses her true self, what has been in her heart, just as the way she is in the work after giving lots of thoughts and trials. You will be able to witness her love for “kawaii (meaning pretty in Japanese)”.
