In this exhibition, Kohei Maekawa showcases "Carved Land," which is a refinement of the artist's series "Ghost Dawn," previously selected as a finalist for the 2023 Pitch Grant. "Carved Land" features photographs of scarecrows scattered in mountain villages. These scarecrows are not placed in fields to scare away birds; rather, they are lifelike human-like figures that trace the presence of people in rural villages.
