Artists

Nami Okada
Nami Okada creates unique paintings that are a mixture of abstract and figurative by repeatedly applying layers and layers of acrylic paint and scraping them off. The paintings depict landscapes based on places Okada has visited, which seem to exist nowhere else, but at the same time evoke a sense of nostalgia and déjà vu. The "one view" series to be exhibited in this exhibition expresses the relationship between "landscapes that do not yet have meaning" and "landscapes that have taken on meaning."

Okada is expected to exhibit at Art Fair Tokyo in 2022, Volta Basel 2021 in 2021, Volta New York in 2020, and other art fairs in the U.S. and Europe. This exhibition will feature 12 new paintings curated by Fumio Nanjo.
