Nature’s Splendor: Scenes of the Moon and Water

The Museum of the Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan
FinishedReservations Prioritized
The phrase "kachou fuugetsu," meaning "flowers, birds, wind, and moon," captures the essence of Japan’s beautiful seasons. Water, a vital element for life, appears as rain, nurturing plants, and eventually flows into rivers, waterfalls, and the sea. The moon, alongside the sun, has historically guided human life, marking seasons and calendars. This exhibition will showcase artworks from imperial collections depicting natural scenes, including rain and moonlit landscapes.
