New Atomic Bomb Exhibition - Expressing the Atomic Threat Through Art and Technology

The University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus
Finished
This is not a story about Hiroshima or Nagasaki, nor is it about the experiences of our grandparents who survived the bombings. This is a story about the 12,000 nuclear weapons that exist today.

The "New Atomic Bomb Exhibition" is a special exhibition focusing on the current nuclear threat. While there is much to be felt and learned by visiting Hiroshima and Nagasaki, even the leaders of nuclear-armed nations express their desire for a world without nuclear weapons when visiting these sites. However, this also implies that without visiting these sites, it is difficult to understand the threat of atomic weapons.

"How can we share the desire to eliminate nuclear weapons more widely across the world?" This led to the idea of having a museum that could move, rather than people, which resulted in this exhibition. The exhibition incorporates art and technology, with the cooperation of Professor Hidenori Watanabe from the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies at the University of Tokyo.

Venue: Open Studio, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, The University of Tokyo.
