New Spring Garden Festival

Gunma Prefectural Museum of History
Finished
Gunma Prefecture is home to around 2000 ancient burial mounds with accompanying Haniwa (clay figures), a high number even on a national scale. Approximately one-third of nationally designated Haniwa artifacts are excavated in Gunma. In 2018, the "HANI-1 Grand Prix" event featured a popular vote for 100 excavated Haniwa from Gunma, attracting around 60,000 votes from both within and outside the prefecture. This exhibition showcases the top-ranked Haniwa from the event and a diverse collection of Haniwa materials held and preserved at the museum.
