After a successful run in New York City, Visitors will make its Japan debut, coming full circle with entirely new works featuring photographs and video footage, organized by Adam Abdalla and Stuart Munro. Visitors provides a rare look into the raw moments of life on the road in independent professional wrestling, chronicling many of the wrestlers’ first trip to Japan in October 2023.
The show has a unique connection to Japan—it documents the journey of New Jersey’s Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) deathmatch wrestlers to Tokyo’s historic Korakuen Hall, which was the first time an independent American wrestling company hosted a fight at the legendary venue. The exhibition will coincide with GCW’s return to Japan with three days of fights (August 12th at Korakuen Hall; August 13th at Shinjuku Face; and August 14th at Shinjuku Face).
Accompanying the exhibition is a limited edition hardcover book featuring 200 pages of matches and behind-the-scenes shots by Karp, which will be available online in Japan through Haoming Shop, a clothing store and our exclusive partner in Tokyo, as well as a limited-edition capsule collection created exclusively for Visitors by Haoming.
The exhibition and book feature talent including Maki Itoh, Jimmy Lloyd, Joey Janela, Jun Kasai, Rina Yamashita, Masha Slamovich, Effy, Allie Katch, Gringo Loco, and Jordan Oliver.
