Nihki (Ayakaendo, Taisuke Nakano)
This exhibition commemorates the publication of Nihki's (Ayakaendo, Taisuke Nakano) new photo book "Spiral Dance."

In their latest work "Spiral Dance," the photography unit Nihk, active in the realms of art and fashion, captures through their creations a disjointed and unnatural existence disconnected from contemporary society. They explore animism, pre-modern beliefs, rituals, and spirituality, which have been their shared interests. Through the sequence of their photographs, dichotomies such as artificial and natural, male and female, self and other, light and darkness intertwine and dance together, drawing viewers into the vortex of an unknown spiral.

The photo book features a concertina binding with a double-sided cover, reflecting the perpetual aspect of the "Spiral Dance" with no beginning or end. Designed by Mariko Okazaki, recipient of the JAGDA New Designer Award 2024, the book is limited to 300 copies priced at 6,000 yen. The exhibition celebrating the publication will include displays of the new photo book and prints, along with a guest talk.
