Noboru Takayama
The Kamakura Gallery will hold a retrospective exhibition of Takayama Noboru (1944–2023), known as a representative Mono-ha artist who sadly passed away in January of this year.

Mono-ha is an artistic phenomenon that emerged around 1970, using unprocessed materials and objects as works of art. It occupies an important position in the history of contemporary Japanese art, and its international reputation continues to rise.

Kamakura Gallery exhibited Takayama Noboru’s works at Mono-ha exhibitions in 1986 and 1994, and in 2012, he commissioned a re-creation of his early work “Mouse Trap” for a solo exhibition. This time, the gallery is exhibiting works centered on “Mouse Trap.”
