Nagano Prefecture's Omachi City is a picturesque rural area embraced by the Northern Alps and the hills of Higashiyama, with rushing streams from the mountains and the three lakes of Nishina. It is a place where the natural beauty of the mountains and the lives of the people are deeply intertwined. Since ancient times, the area has been home to shrines and the Salt Road, and in modern times, it has been the site of civil engineering marvels like the Kurobe Dam.

The history and lives of the people who have left their mark on this land remain vividly preserved today. The gushing clear streams, forests where tree species from east and west intermingle, the hills atop rocky foundations, and the high sky that connects to the world above all convey the refreshing air of Omachi.

Artists from around the world will present sharp, compelling work that resonates with the power and memories of the land.
