As a leading artist who has sublimated sweets decorating into an art form, Osamu Watanabe has been creating fake sweets and exhibiting them. Through numerous exhibitions in Kagoshima, the birthplace of confectionery in Japan, and elsewhere this past year, Watanabe has rethought the significance of sweets and art.
