This photo exhibition is in celebration of the release of the photography collection "Assembly Teshikaga" by photographer Osamu Yokonami, the fourth installment from the publishing project "Lula Books" by Lula Japan, a project by the company Lula Japan.
Yokonami, known for his unique humor and transparent photographic expression, has gained acclaim both domestically and internationally, continuing to work at the forefront across various genres. Since 2010, in his "Assembly" series, he has focused on the strength and beauty of collective entities, capturing the images of girls dressed alike in the rich natural surroundings of places such as Hokkaido, Okinawa, Phuket, and New Zealand.
The latest work in this series, "Assembly Teshikaga," is set in Teshikaga, Hokkaido, surrounded by deep forests and beautiful waters. The photographs portray girls in school uniforms earnestly progressing through the snow-covered land. While continuing the theme of giving anonymity to individuals and highlighting their existence as a collective, these photographs evoke a sense of the harshness and sublime awe of nature, revealing the earnest expression of innocent life.
In this exhibition, the gallery space will feature displays and sales, and related collections of Yokonami's works will also be available for purchase. Additionally, on February 11th (Sunday), a talk event will be held with guest photographer Hidetomo Hamada.
