Artists

Otobong Nkanga
Born in Nigeria and based in Belgium, Otobong NKANGA’ s practice has focused on the stories and politics associated with the earth, land, and sea in terms of their relationship with human beings. As a result of the artist’ s research into various materials and craft techniques found in Ishikawa Prefecture, we are pleased to present the new work by NKANGA created in collaboration with these craftspeople. The tapestry work newly acquired by the museum will also be on view.
