Painters of Shinjuku

Shinjuku Historical Museum
Finished
Many painters lived in Shinjuku, especially in the Ochiai area, where Western-style painters Yuzo and Yoneko Saeki, Tsune Nakamura, Ichinen Somiya, and others had their residences and studios.

They encountered people and landscapes, spent their days, and painted. This was the life of these artists in Shinjuku. In addition to the works and drawings, this exhibition will also include items related to the artist, as well as letters and books written by the artist.

The exhibition also explores the artist's life and relationships with others, providing glimpses into the artists that are difficult to see from their work alone.
