Rainbow-colored Sparkling Prism of Light

Kichijoji Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Yozo Hamaguchi
Through a unique mezzotint technique, Yozo Hamaguchi creates a world of mezzotints, which exhibit subtle shading from black to white. The gradation from pale yellow to orange and red, and the beautiful colors of subdued blue, indigo, purple, and green are reminiscent of the seven colors of the rainbow. According to Hamaguchi, light is the most prominent element in the works of the artist, opposing darkness.
