The artworks contain the dense time and information that the artists have devoted to their creations. One artist often gazes at the canvas, adding new strokes, while another leaves traces of their life and body on the screen. When one thinks of paintings that evoke a sense of physicality, one might first imagine bold strokes using arms or legs that are visible on the canvas. On the other hand, in the works of Chiyu Uemae, who meticulously builds up the screen through repeated brushwork, and Makiko Kimura, who constructs the canvas with her own handprints and intricate lines, one can also feel a sense of physicality. In these works, the accumulation of individual brushstrokes and drawn lines forms the entire canvas. The function of these artworks might be to recreate the "time" that artists faced while confronting the canvas, contemplating what they were thinking, and stacking those moments together.

In this exhibition, the works of ten artists from the 20th Century Art Collection of Osaka Prefecture are introduced, whose artworks evoke a sense of slow accumulation of time and physicality. The artworks are perceived as "regenerators" of time and physicality, providing an opportunity to connect with the artists' engagement with their creations.
