Ri Jong Ok
Ri Jong Ok, from the perspective of a third-generation Korean resident in Japan, creates work based on a transversal view of nations, ethnicities, and Asian history. By referencing compositions and symbolic motifs from classical paintings and employing techniques such as collage, Ri has garnered attention for producing realistic and multilayered paintings.

Recently, Ri participated in the project "Musabi × Chosen Dai 'Suddenly, the View Opens Up'" (2015), which aimed to build a bridge over the wall separating Korea University and Musashino Art University, and exhibited with members of the same project at "Heisei Art: Ephemera and Debris 1989–2019" (Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, 2021).

In 2022, Ri held a solo exhibition "Simulated Window" at the Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels, indicating a promising future for further achievements. This exhibition will showcase new paintings created under the curation of Fumio Nanjo.
