Artists

Rikako Kawauchi
Taking her interest in food as a starting point, Rikako Kawauchi expresses the body and thought, self and others, and the indistinctness of their interrelationships through a wide range of media, including drawing and painting, semi-artistic wire works, and sculptures made of neon tubes and resin.

In this exhibition, in addition to the mythological motifs inspired by French social anthropologist/folklorist Claude Lévi-Strauss's "Mythological Logic," which she has been working on for the past few years, Kawauchi will exhibit paintings that show a mixed motif of the human body and human face, which often appear in her drawings and past paintings. The exhibition will feature more than 20 new works, including several wire works, as well as paintings that show the development of a mixture of motifs such as the human body and the human face, which often appear in Kawauchi's drawings and past paintings.
