Ryu Ika
In this exhibition, Ryu Ika will present new works on the ongoing theme of "botai" (mom land). Ika had to give up her trip to Inner Mongolia because of COVID-19, and she has been searching for images and videos of his hometown on the Internet. This year, she made his long-awaited return to Japan but was shocked to find that the hometown she had envisioned in Japan was completely different from reality.

The photographs exhibited here are the very imaginary world that Ryu Ika seeks, which she photographed on her trip to Inner Mongolia and then constructed through repeated digital processing and countless layers. For Ryu Ika, this is one of those stories that stand up more realistically and powerfully than reality.
