Hitsujibungaku, an alternative rock band known for their delicate yet powerful sound, consists of vocalist and guitarist Moeka Shiotsuka, bass Yurika Kasai, and drums Hiroa Fukuda. Recently, their song "More than Words," which served as the ending theme for a popular TV anime, has surpassed 100 million streams in Japan. They also performed at Fuji Rock Festival’23, drawing an unprecedented daytime crowd at the Green Stage. Their solo performance at Yokohama Arena in April sold out within three minutes of ticket sales. They completed their first Asia tour this spring, with all venues sold out, marking a significant step towards their global expansion from Asia.

"'Secret Garden' Inspired by Hitsujibungaku - 12 Hugs (Like Butterflies)" reinterprets the album "12 Hugs (Like Butterflies)," released last December, through the lens of Haru. (HUG), who created the album artwork. Following Shiotsuka's self-liner notes, Haru. collaborates with various artists to create an exhibition space that captures the album's world. This album, the band's first original work in about a year and a half, represents a return to their roots and an expression of their true selves. The album title symbolizes "12 songs embracing oneself," with artwork depicting Shiotsuka's butterfly hug.

The space, defined as a "garden" that symbolizes the ever-evolving band and its creators and staff as "gardeners," offers a glimpse into intimate communication during the creative process. The "garden" features contributions from various "gardeners," including Haru. (HUG), the creative director who has supported Hitsujibungaku's artwork since the early days. The exhibition includes works by photographer Nico Perez, costume designer Ava, flower artist Finaleflwr, artist Christopher Loden known for his diverse work including fashion, and the creative platform Konomad by wig artist Tomihiro Kono and photographer/visual artist Sayaka Maruyama, famous for the Supreme x MM6 collaboration. The exhibition space design is handled by design studio DODI™ and ikebana Sogetsu master Alexander Julian, embodying the "secret garden."

Admission to the exhibition is by reservation with designated time slots. Tickets will be available from 10:00 AM on May 18 (Saturday) via ePlus. For more details, please visit the New Gallery website or the ePlus ticket purchase page.
